A few weeks ago, Premier Jacinta Allan accused the development industry of cheerleading for the Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division), turning our criticism of failed #housing #policy (unnecessarily) political. I was, frankly, incensed.
We continue to be scapegoated for all the government's ills – zero introspection.
The #development industry has been crying out for meaningful changes which would actually make a difference to creating more homes. Those cries fall on deaf ears, apparently, as the Victorian Government's continues to focus on doing anything but what we actually need.
It continues to run it's own agenda instead of listening to those actually trying to build the 800,000 homes it says it wants.
As I say in the op-ed: this is not about Australian Labor Party vs Liberal Party of Australia. This is about good policy vs bad, irrespective of team colours (as Peter Malinauskas shows).
🤔 If the Premier and the Government are serious about delivering housing supply, not just empty promises, it's time to listen to the people doing the work and focus on results.
