The federal government extended its First Home Loan Deposit Scheme, adding 10,000 places and higher price caps for buyers of newly built homes, including apartments. UDIA national vice-president Max Shifman said the apartment market needed HomeBuilder expanded to apartments and townhouses, with value and income caps widened.
As I told Domain: “We would certainly like HomeBuilder to be expanded to apartments and townhouses so it can apply to a larger range of people,”
I also said: “At the moment you’ve got caps on the values that you can apply for and there are also caps on income ranges, which limits the application.”
