First-time buyers are returning to Australia’s housing market

ABS data shows first-home buyer loans hit a near three-year high in June, led by Queensland's expiring grant boost. Victoria and NSW stamp duty concessions should extend the recovery; Intrapac's Max Shifman reports first-home buyer sales share rising since July 1.

As I told the Australian Financial Review: “We’ve seen an increase in first home buyers definitely since July 1. The proportion of sales has swung in favour of first home buyers. There’s definitely been an increase.”
