The Urban Development Institute of Australia wants higher migration to offset arrivals lost to border closures, with net overseas migration negative and not back to 200,000-plus until 2024. President Maxwell Shifman said the freeze would wipe $17.9 billion off economic growth by 2025 unless housing supply improved.
