The Commonwealth budget will include a $128.5 million package to reform environmental protection, funding up to ten regional plans, streamlined assessments and a modernised offsets policy. UDIA national president Maxwell Shifman welcomed the reforms as well balanced, though environmental groups accused the government of circumventing protections.
