This morning I am attending the Treasurer’s Investor Roundtable on Housing on behalf of UDIA National

together with representatives from a range of institutions. banks, super funds, and several association peers.

The focus of today's discussion will be on the perspectives of institutional investors and the reforms necessary to enable further #investment into affordable housing – one of the actions from the Federal Governments' Housing Accord which will be needed to underpin the aspiration to deliver 1 million homes over the five years from 2024 across Australia.

It's a positive step, one of the many needed to properly address housing #affordability across the spectrum.

The big challenge remains to create capacity and a level playing field across all types housing – whether built to rent or to sell, affordable or market, greenfield or infill – which still needs concerted effort to improve #planning systems and deliver enabling #infrastructure in advance of needing new homes.

Looking forward to the conversation and to the ongoing dialogue with the Federal Government.
