Developer Max Shifman argues struggling Melbourne golf courses should be converted to housing, calling them ripe for development and ideal for affordable homes in established suburbs with existing infrastructure. As I told news.com.au: “They (golf courses) are ripe for development and could be unlocked very quickly, which is what you need in a housing crisis — it just needs a bit of political will,”
I also said: “Golf courses represent an incredible opportunity in the midst of a housing crisis to develop affordable housing in typically quite established parts of Melbourne, where you’ve got infrastructure and amenities.”
And I added: “the perfect locations to unlock much-needed land for new housing,”
